Admission Requirements into Banking and Finance (JAMB & Direct Entry)
(A) Admission requirements for the Four- Year Programme (JAMB)
Candidates seeking admission into this Programme must score 200 and above in their JAMB examination and should possess any of the following qualifications:
- West African School/ SSCE Certificate (or approved equivalent) with credit passes in at least five subjects which should include English Language, Mathematics and Economics (obtained in not more than two sittings) or equivalent credits passes in the General Certificate of Education at the Ordinary Level (also obtained in not more than two sittings).
- The required Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) subjects are:
- Plus any other Social Science Subject.

(B) Admission Requirements for the Three -Year Programme (Direct Entry)
(iii) Requirements in A (i) above plus
Two subjects at the GCE A/L or HSC, one of which should be Accounting and the other either Economics or Business Management.
(iv) Requirements in A (i) above plus
The Ordinary National Diploma in Banking & Finance or Accounting or any relevant subject (passed with minimum average of upper credits) from a recognized State or Federal Polytechnics or College of Technology.
(v) Requirements in A (i) above plus
The Diploma in Banking and Finance /Accounting, and any other relevant area with a minimum credit pass from the University of Benin or any other recognized University.
(vi) A Higher National Diploma in any relevant subject awarded by a recognized State, Federal Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(vii) A Bachelor’s Degree in any subject awarded by a recognized University.
(C) Admission Requirements for the Two -Year Programme (Direct Entry)
(i) The Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance or Accounting (passes with a minimum of B+ average) of a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
DURATION OF PROGRAMME
The minimum number of academic years required for the award of the degree shall be four years for candidates admitted by JAMB examination to level 100, and three/two years for candidates admitted by Direct Entry to level 200/300 respectively.
